What are the connections between morels and religion?

Morels and Religion are both two different things. Morels means a lesson for a story or something. Religion means different race like Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and etc. The connection between both of them is that they tell the stories about the religion and how they work.

This I Believe

The essay that I am going to talk about from This I Believe is called "A Duty To Heal" by Dr. Pius Kamau. The reason that I choose this essay was because I thought that it wasn't very nice that this 19 year old never talked to Dr.Kamau just because he was white. If I was alive those ages Then I would report this to someone that handles all this. I also thought that this story is a very sad and emotional story. He was born in 1941 but doesn't know which day, so he choose September 1st because he thought it was a good day. He studied until the age of 14 when he had to stop to work form money. Usually in those days the whites ruled the country and Dr. Pius was a black. He said that all humans must have equal rights. He also said "My color and accent set me apart. But in a hospital I am neither black or white. I'm a doctor. I believe every patient that I touch deserves the same care and concern from me." In 1999 he was called to go to the hospital, where a 19 year old patient was coughing up blood after a car accident. A white person that had a tattoo on his chest. He wouldn't let Dr. Pius touch or talk to him. When Pius went closer to him he spat on Pius. The Pius said that he wanted no part of him but no other physician would take him on. He would only to talk to the white nurses and they had to check if there were any injury's on his body. Only the nurses could touch his tattooed chest. He wasn't badly hurt it turned out. Dr. Pius couldn't do much of his race. He also said that his black hands have saved many life's. I also think that people should have had equal rights those days like they do these days.

Learning Profile L!

1. I learn best when I am moving and playing with things. Also when I see a big picture I learn better because I am more of the right side of the brain which is the Gestalt side. I think that I am better sitting on the left side of the class because I can hear better with my right ear. I would also prefer to sit in front of the class.

2. I need to listen more to the teacher often because if I am playing with something that means I am listening. Mr.Peters usually doesn't allow me to fiddle with things because he thinks that I am not listening.

3. The strategies that would help me in my learning is when there isn't any noise around me. I cannot study with music around me because then I will concentrate more on my music.

4. I would like my teachers to know this about me is that I am only listening when I am playing with something, doodling or looking somewhere else. That is really all that I would like my teachers to know.

Classic Greek Myth

Which story did you enjoy the most? Why?
I enjoyed the second film when Perseus killed the Gorgon. I thought that it was really interesting and it wasn't as sad as the first one. It was more interesting because the narrator told the story very well. He kept me interested throughout. The narration was what made it interesting.


Was it the characters or the story that you enjoyed?
It was the characters that made it enjoyable. Most of all I loved their accent because they talked like a British! It was also interesting how the characters acted and dressed. First I thought that the characters were actually the gods and goddesses. Then after that I thought that they are not real after I saw the ending.


In thinking of the themes in these stories, what do they have in common?

1. What piece of work and learning are you most proud? Explain.
I am proud of all my work but especially my Diary's, because I really spent my time to do it and put a lot of effort into it. I don't exactly have a learning that I am really proud of becuase I think that all the learning I do is really fun and interesting. What the Mrs.Narsiman teaches me in class is really interesting the way she teaches it but then I don't really know how to explain that.

2. What were your greatest challenges? Explain.
From the begining to the end of 6th grade has always been a challenge for me. From the work, activicties and tests that we do it has been kind of hard for me a part from some of the things taht we do.

3. Reflecting on your growth this year, what did you learn about yourself as a learner?
I learnt that I am a person that can push myself to do it but I just don't do it at times. The 1st trimester the work have been easy then it got harder and harder. I thought to myslef that I shouldn't think about how hard it is I should think about what I am going to do. Obviously if I study really really hard then I can do all these things which I have been pushing myslef to do.

There is really nothing else that I need the teachers to know but one thing would be that I am really going to miss 6th grade and I will miss the teachers that I had and how great they were. I must also say that they are the best teachers that I can ever have.

7. Finally, cast your minds back to the first few months of middle school (when you arrived in Grade 6 ) what "Words of Wisdom" or "Advice" could you pass on to the Class of 2018?
I would say that they are going to have so much fun and there is no need to be scared about becuase everything is going to be perfectly fine and so are the teachers. I must also say that the first few days you are going to have a lot of trouble opening your locker because that was a big problem that I had. Other then that there is nothing else and I am going to miss 6th grade a lot. :) :P :D

Dear Family and Friends.......

I am kind of glad that this is the last blog post for the White Mountain! For this blog post I have to write this letter, as if I am Will and I am writing the letter to someone else. I am going to write a letter to Will's Family and Friends. I think that writing a letter is easier then the other blog post I have done. This is how I will be telling my story and here I go:

Dear Family & Friends,
How are you all?I am missing all of you guys there and I am fine there is nothing to worry about me. I really wish that I was there with all of you guys and I really want to see all of you. If you are wondering were I am I am sorry but I can't tell you because I don't want to you all and myself to get in danger. If this letter accidentally goes to the Tripods then they read this then they will know were I am and they will come for me to probably cap me.

I have heard about Jack, that he has gotten capped and I really don't want to end up like him so I am really trying to get there to you guys as quick and possible. I must say that Jack was my best friend and he was the best but then again after he got capped he just totally changed. Whenever I said something to him he just acted really strange and different I have never really seen him like that in my whole life I must say. Then later on Jack was just really far away from him and I couldn't even talk or go to him ever since so that is why I don't want to capped.

I have learned a lot of things in this journey, I must say that not having freedom can be really hard and life would be really odd, boring and people will be bossing me around. I have also learned in this journey a lot about life, love, friendship, trust, my life, freedom, death and etc. I guess I have also learned a bit about the Tripods life somehow. Well there nothing much I can say because I don't know what to say at the moment but I hope you write back soon to me and I looking forward to you all writing back. I really want to come there and see you all! :)

Lit cirlce blogpost #4 The Castle with the Red Tower

In humanities we are really close to finishing the book White Mountains just the last two chapters and we will be done. We were told to write/explain about a quote on chapter 6 and the quote is on page 111. The quote says: "The bitter thing was all the spirit, all the gallantry, was wasted. For even more than inferiors, they accepted and looked forward to being Capped. It was a part of becoming a knight, or of turning from a girl to lady. Thinking of this, I saw how good things could be meaningless in isolation. What value did courage have, without a free and challenging mind to direct it?" This is my first reason, this quote relates more to freedom. What the author is trying to say in this book is that there is no freedom. Maybe at first they will have a bit of freedom but then at the end they will get capped and they will be total slaves to the tripods. Will and Henry think that they will not get capped because they are going to the White Mountains and that they tripods will not be able to find them there. That will not be true the tripods might find them or they will just run away to another place which they think that the tripods can't find them, but the tripods can find them. Also both of them thought that they will have freedom and that they will be knights solders and people like that, but in real life they won't get a chance to be like that because they won't have freedom once they get capped.

I also have my second reason which is when Will get taken care off when he was sick. When he was in The Red castle he was really happy for some reason. He thought that hes life was changed after he escaped from the tripods. The tripods were really close to catching Will and Henry but then they escaped and they were really happy. I think that they were really lucky that they escaped from the tripods. Will was thinking of getting capped but then he didn't but maybe at the end he might just make up his mind and will get capped. Those are my two reasons.

Blogpost 3 & Lit Circel #4

How were the tripods able to control the people?
Well how the tripods control the people is really easy. The tripods would just go around capping people which will probably include Will and Henry. Ozymandias has told Will all about the tripods and so that is why Will, Henry and Beanpole are trying to get to the White Mountains so that they don't get capped. I don't think that Beanpole is going with Will and Henry to not get capped. He is going because he just joined Will and Henry to the White Mountains so that he could be their guide to the Mountains. We will only know if Beanpole will get capped after we read the whole of the White Mountains. So I am looking forward to read the more and finish the book.

Find evidence (quotations from the novel) to show that even though Will is comfortable living at the castle, he is frustrated that the Comte, Comtesse, and Eloise have been capped.
I couldn't really find any quotation's for this question but I only found one and it is in Page 108. Which is"No. After all, they are Capped. They have different customs, but they obey the Tripods. THey are still slaves. they treat us kindly, but they must not know our plans." That is probably the only quote that I found but I couldn't find anymore. I am not really sure if he was comfortable in Red castle or not because it say much about that.

Well I don't think that he would have wanted to get capped and that is why he is trying to escape to the White Mountains with Henry and Beanpole but Beanpole is just there to probably show them the way to the White Mountains. I found a paragraph of quotation about this question on page 33. "They make men think the things the Tripods want them to think? They Control the brain. How, or what extent, we are not sure. As you know, the metal is joined to the flesh, so that it cannot be removed. It seems that certain general orders are given when the Cap is put on. Later, specific orders can be given to specific people, but as far as the majority are concerned, they do not seem to bother." That is all that I could have found but then I couldn't really find more then that, maybe I can but I probably just can't remember were the quotes were!

How will Beanpole help Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains?

In Humanities class we have been reading this book called White Mountains! Before this blog post I wrote another blog post similar to this and it was about How this boy called Will who is a character in the White Mountains like me? I said that he is like me in many ways. This time I have another question and that question is How will Beanpole help Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains? Now, Beanpole is another character in this story and what I am thinking is that maybe soon he will also be another main character of this story. Beanpole is a person that wears glasses,speaks english, french and is ready to join Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains.

I am going to now answer the question: How will Beanpole help Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains? What I think that Beanpole will be a really helpful person for Will and Henry's journey. I also think that Beanpole is a really smart person, he could help Will and Henry if they are lost, they dont know were to go or maybe Beanpole knows the hole way to the White Mountains. If both of them are hungry then maybe Beanpole can help them find food. If it is at night then all of them are tiered then all the three of them can build a, make some fire if they are cold and they can also find some water if there is any water out there.Then the next day they can wake up and continue their journey to the Mountains. That is what I think that Beanpole is helpful to Will and Henry to their journey to the White Mountains.

Lit circle- White Mountains :)

I am reading this book called White Mountains. This book it about theses tripods that are really tall and they have three legs. They are the robots that came to earth and took over the earth and control's the earth. There is this boy called Will and he is about twelve, probably the same age as you guys are. His freedom was going to end pretty soon, but if he runs away to the White Mountains then there is a chance for him that he will have some freedom. That is what the story basically about. I am going to answer a question that I am suppose to and I have to read chapter 2 to answer this question and I did. I will answer this question in the second paragraph so you know my answer to this question. The question that I am suppose to answer is:

How is Will just like you?

Well, Will is like me in many ways he is about twelve and I am going to be twelve. He has been token over by robots and I have have been taken over by my brother almost everyday. He has a best friend called Jack and I have a best friend, that is something that everyone has but still and he is like me and other ways as well. By knowing that we are common in a lot of ways I think that it is really interesting. That is all I can say that Will is some sort in a way like me.

There is all the information from me for that question "How is WIll just like you?". I would say that the book White Mountains is an ok book for me because I actually don't like reading. Maybe for you might like to read books so if you are looking for a book then you can maybe read White Mountains if you want. Also if you do read the book then I hope you will really enjoy it. Now here is a question to you How is Will just like you? (if you ever read this book then you can answer this question!).

Ancient Egyptian Reflection! :)

This video on top is about my imovie that I did with my partner Zarafsha and me and her did an imovie on this pharaoh called King Khufu the pharaoh that built the Great Pyramid of Giza. I am going to answer six questions about my imovie in my next six paragraphs:

1.Why do you think Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh's create monuments?
I think that they built monuments because they wanted to show their believes and culture and their history. Also to show how strong they were when they were building those monuments also how they ruled the country. I did a imovie on King Khufu and he was the person that built the pyramid, and there was a thing that he believed in which after life. After life means like people die and then they think that they will have another life in the future and another word for after life is maybe lasts forever.

2. What monuments in our society are similar? (be sure to provide explanations and graphics).
There are few monuments from where we live, similar to the monuments in Ancient Egypt. There in the Great Wall of China, Taj Mahal, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Great Pyramid of Giza and so on. As we know that Khufu built the Great Pyramid of Giza and he used big granite rocks to build them. Here are few images of the

3.How did the using google docs as the main portal for collaboration help you with this assignment?
Using google doc mainly helped on this assignment because we had lots of information on the list and since we partnered up it was easier because then there was for information from both of us, then if there was only one person then there will not be quit a lot if information on the list. It was easier also because if we had something in our mind that we had not added on the list yet then on we can just go and add it in the list because both of us have excess to the google docs.

4.What did you learn from this assignment?
In this assignment I learned more about King Khufu and at first I didn't even know who he was and after I learned about him and found out information about him I got to know more about him. I also learned a lot about the Great Pyramid of Giza that he built and how he built it. Partnership is also one thing that I have learned well not so much because I have worked with partners MANY times this is not my first time of course.

5. What was challenging?
I would say that in this assignment I only had on challenge which was finding information about him, also after we got the information it was kind of hard for us to find graphics for the information and that is all that was challenging for me for this assignment.

6. Which school wide learning results were evident in this assignment?
In my school there is six school wide learning results. The one that I would say that was most evident would probably be collaborate constructively because when we were working in partners we had our own jobs that we had to do so we did our own job and we actually got our work done fast. I think me and my partner did quit well on this assignment.

City Connection Reflection!!! :)

I call Pulau Penang as my home because that was were I was born. Well what I am talking about is that the presentation that we did in class. We have to do on a place were we call home so I did Pulau Penang because that was the place were I call home. We have to answer four questions and these are the questions: 1.What you believe you did well on the project?, 2. What you would improve for future presentations/projects?, 3. What did you learn from your preparation (for your presentation) in addition to the presentations of others? and 4. What is your analysis of your performance? I am going to answer all these questions in the next four paragraphs.

What you believe you did well on the project?

Well, I wouldn't say that I did that well but I would say that I did ok and not fantastic. I say that because I didn't really have much information and when I need the population of Penang I could only find the population of Malaysia (Pulau Penang is in Malaysia). That is as much as I can say for that question.

What you would improve for future presentations/projects?
I should add more information so that the audience would thing that it is somehow interesting. Also when I am presenting I should talk louder and I should not keep looking at my presentation and reading the words out of the presentation. Maybe I can write what I am going to say in a piece of paper so when I forget what I am going to say I can go and look back at the paper.

What did you learn from your preparation (for your presentation) in addition to the presentations of others?
From my presentation I would say that I learnt more about Penang and there were lots of facts in my presentation that I didn't really know about un til my grandfather explained to me all about it. From other peoples presentation I learnt more about their country or city were they call home and all those facts were pretty interesting as well. Some of their presentation were REALLY interesting.

What is your analysis of your performance?
I was not as loud but I was a bit loud and maybe in the future I could make my voice a bit more louder. I didn't really make much eye contact because I was keep reading out what it said on my presentation and so In the future I must also have more eye contact at the audience!

My New Year's Resolution!:D

       Happy New Year to EVERYONE that is reading this blog! I am going to share you my New Years Resolution for 2011! I have 2 New Year Resolution for 2011 1.To be nicer to my brother! and 2.Get better grades in class!(like maybe few A+'s or A's). Those are my 2 resolution's that I am going to be sharing with you, so I hope you enjoy them!

       Let's start of with No.1 being nice to my brother! "I ask the same question to myself as well why is being nice to my brother a New Year's resolution?" "Usually I am really mean to him and he is also mean to me, but I am way nicer then him most of the time." I am like his little maid and I am not his like his little sister. What I mean by little maid is that whatever he asks me to do I HAVE to do for him! For example: getting water, going to the 3rd floor and getting his ipod or his books and etc. So if this time he asks me to do something then I am going to say, "Izzath, you have legs don't you so can you just go and get it yourself since you HAVE legs". Also when he hits me then I want to hit him back but I just can't because hen he will hit 10 times harder then how I hit him! So this time when he hits me I am just going to try ignoring or I am going to say "Izzath, can you please stop! That was my first resolution.

       Last but not least my 2nd resolution which is to get better grades. I am not a really smart kid and it is not easy for me to get good grades because I am not a smart kid! So this year i am going to try studying my hardest so that I could get awesome grades and I will get at least a bit more smarter! Here are few of the subjects that I really don't get good grades: Science and especially Math and the other subjects I get ok grades. My goal is to get excellent grades on Math and Science, but even though I like those 2 subjects I still get bad grades!

       Those are my 2 New Year's Resolution but, my 1st New Year's Resolution can sometimes not actually work out because when my brother is being really mean to me then I can't be nicer to him I also have to treat him how he treats me, then it will not be fair to me!
