Learning Profile-How do I learn Best?:)
In class, my class and I were shown what our profile was and surprisingly my profile letter was the letter "I". Well, actually I wasn't really that surprised when I got an "I" because it says I am "Limited Under Stress", and I guess sometimes I am. I talk with my friends sometimes when the teacher is talking and I also like to move a lot, so I already knew I was gestalt. I am stronger in the right side of my brain because I love free-flow when I come into a classroom, and I don't like orderly things like bullet points on the board. Here are few things about myself:
I learn best when the teacher shows lots of examples on the board and draws examples. The reason why I learn better when my teacher draws examples on the board is because I understand it better when I see it, not hear the teacher just talking about it the whole time.
I have to fiddle with something when the teacher is talking. I just find the need to move because I can't sit in the same place for a really long time because I might get really bored and feel tired.
The strategies that would help me in my learning is that I need to study for a test or a quiz about two to three times for me to get better grades. Also another strategy is that I also sometimes need help from the teacher but I always don't ask the teacher for some help because I understand the topic that we are learning about most of the time.
I would like my teacher to know this about me: when I sit at the back I can't really see the board, and I don't like sitting at the front. So I'd like to sit in the middle. Also I would like my teacher to know that I like to ask lots of questions when I don't understand something. That is probably it and I hope my teacher understands when I start asking them questions. :)

Hathcet By:Gary Paulsen, Collaborative Lit Circles! :)
What does the word Collaborative mean? To me Collaborative means working together and talking together about what you are going to do for the next Lit Circles which is about what we do. I am going to talk about how me and my partner worked Collaboratively as partners. It is about the book "Hathcet By: Gary Paulsen" I am going to answer these 3 questions which are: 1.The benefits of working with a classmate, 2.Challenges/ obstacles which you overcome (tried to overcome) and 3.New understandings that you gained about the novel. Those are all the questions that I will answer in the next 3 paragraphs and I will give some information.
For the 1st answer to the question, I think that collaborating with a partner when I am doing my lit circle is way better then working alone on your lit circle. I think that because when I work alone on it, its hard for me to think about 2 passages 2 questions especially but 2 connections and 2 vocabulary is easy for me. Now to the real point about the benefits, is that when I work with a partner what I predict is that I will get better grades because when I finish the part I have to do, then my partner comments on it then I edit it then it is better then maybe I can get better grades then the previous ones that I worked alone on.
Now the 2nd answer to the question, about my challenges and everything was that when it is my turn to say my talk about my lit circle then I get really scared because I don't think what I wrote about my lit circle was that good because I am not really good at thinking about 2 things at a time for my passage I have to find a certain page to write about I can't just pick a random page and write about it. Sometimes it is easy for me to think about 2 of the passages at the same time because I pick an easy page so it is easier for me to understand and I can do it a bit quicker.
Then my 3rd answer to the question, things that I understand about the novel is that how Brian made the fire and learned from the 2 dreams that he had about his father and his friend how they were trying to explain about the fire. He finally understand what his 2nd dream was about when he had the dream about his friend cooking something and he was trying to explain and he understand that Brian had to use his Hathcet to make the fire. I also learned how Brian survived after the plane crash that he had food to eat, water to drink and also fire that he treated like his friend. That is all I have learned so far.

Literature Circle!!! :)
My groups discussion helped me understand the novel because if I did the discussion every time then I can think of more ideas the next time me and my group do the discussion. When we do the discussion we all have different things on our lit circle sheets that is on the computer and we have different passages, questions, connections and vocabulary. If we all wrote different things on our lit circle then it would be much interesting because if we all have the same thing written on our sheet then it would be boring. By reading my groups lit circle it is easier to understand then the person reading it to us.
The connection that I made during the discussion was when I heard this story form this man that there was a plane crash and also when I was on a plane the plane made a roring sound for like 10 seconds. When the other person was saying their connections I didn't really make connections with the other persons connections.

Why is it that Australia and NZ became technologically advanced and wealthy?
Australia and NZ's is wealthier then Papua New Guinea because Papua New Guinea has less resources and also has less tech stuff. One thing about the PNG's is that they don't have much clean cloths and they probably have less then 10 pairs of cloths to wear. The Australians and the NZ's have more then 30 pairs of cloths to change in probably.
Here are some some difference about the NZ's and the PNG's, the Australians and NZ's are mostly white and the PNG's are white, the Australians and NZ's are not so poor and they they can buy food from outside because they have more money then the PNG's. The PNG's are kinda poor try to get food outside were they live which is by the woods and they cook it.The Australians and the NZ's have more bigger lands and islands but the PNG's have way smaller lands and islands. Maybe one of the same thing about the Australians, NZ's and the PNG's is that they are both safe countries nothing really bad happens because maybe they are all peaceful countries.

Maybe also PNG might become a rich and wealthy country in a few days because some countries were first poor and now they are quiet rich.

We the smart smart MUDSKIPPERS!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)
Do you guys hear that, what is that noise? "Nooooooo" the humans are coming to take over our land again, and we are all going to die! someone help us"! I said to my buddies, do you guys want to die or live? Well if you want to die don't make a deep hole in the mud to hide yourself. If you want to live then quickly make a deep hole to hide yourself in the mud so that you don't get squashed by the humans.
A Mudskipper |
So we all quickly made the deepest hole that we could ever make to hide our self so that we don't get killed by those evil humans, who are always coming to take over our land. When they came they stepped on half of my friends which half of my friends past away which is really sad. Once they left we were happy that they left and we were sad that my friends past away. We did a little funeral for the ones that past away. For the ones that didn't die we made a plan for the next set of humans that will be coming to attack us because we know that every time humans are coming to take over our land. We said that "next time we have to go to the other side of the bridge were no humans will come to attack us because there is no way that they can enter by that side".
The two brave Mudskipper |
The next set of group came then I said to my buddies " move it, move it we have to skip as fast as we could to the other side of the bridge so that no one can attack us". We were all actually safe when we crossed to the other side of the bridge and none of us past away or anything else which was a success, with our brilliant plan. Then I said to the rest of them that " maybe we should go to the other side of the bridge again so that we are safe and sound"

Bullying!
When I was coming to school one day I say this little girl that was in 2nd grade. She was sitting next to a tree doing her homework then a bunch of high school kids came and saw that little kid doing her homework by the tree. When I waked past her she was getting bullied by all of those mean high school kids. They were saying mean and nasty things to her like “you are so ugly no one in this school will ever like” and other stuff. Also they asked for her money but she said “no I won’t give it to you”. What they did was they kicked so hard on her leg that she broke her leg. Then this is the part where I stood up for her. I helped her up and asked her “are you ok”? She said “no” and started to cry. After that I told all those high school kids, “if you all were little kids and someone did the same thing to you I don’t think you would like that, so back of unless you want me to tell the principle right now”. It actually worked they just walked away saying nothing, which of course I was proud of myself that I stood up for that little girl.
I helped that little girl to the nurse and the nurse sent her to the hospital to get her leg better. I was really sad for that girl that she broke her leg. From that day I would always stand up for myself whenever I get bullied or someone else gets bullied in school or somewhere else. I wonder how it will be like if I was bullied.

A time I showed Courage!
Well I bet no one is actually scared to go to their own bathroom in thier house right? If you ask me if I am scared to go to the bathroom, then I would say " yes I am scared to go to my own bathroom when I was still like at the age of about eight or nine". Here is a story of a time how I showed courage when I was young.
When I was young, I have had always a big fear of going to the bathroom in my room. The reason that I was scared to go to my own bathroom was because the bathroom's in my house are really dark and I am not a big fan of dark places. When ever I needed to go to the bathroom when it was still daylight I would leave the bathroom door open in my room but if it was at night then I would ask someone to come with me and stand outside my bathroom.
I have a older brother which is about sixteen now. He would always embarass me in front people by saying '' aatiqah is scared to go to her own bathroom she always asks someone to come stand outside her bathroom''. I told him to stop doing that but as usual he wouldn't stop. So one day what I told him was " just keep watching I will never be scared to go my own or any other bathroom again". I was actually not scared to go to my bathroom ever again. My brother said " ok you are not scared to go to the bathroom anymore you have got a lot of courage".

Social Scientist!
An archaelogists is someone who studies people and what they did in the past from the things that they left behind. Archaelogists might study early Native Americans, early European Settlers, such as old factory buildings. Archaelogists can dig up artifacts pretty much anywhere.
An archaelogists normally finds artifacts such as dinosaurs bones, mummies, ancient jewellery and metals. Archaelogists usually find artifacts by excavating materials in 10 by 10 foot squares. The excavating process is done carefully to avoid destroying the buried artifacts. As discoveries are made, arcaeologists catalog all findings and to make a report of their findings later.
Arcaeologists job can be fairly dirty and a difficult job. It involves a lot of diggings. Many digging are done in hot weather locations without axcess to bathroom or even shower.

When I entered the place called Grand Bazaar it was like a place that I could get anyting and I really wish that I could go there again and the Grand Bazaar is the most crowded places in Istanbul.5 adjectives that I would describe myself would be, I ask people a lot of questions, helpful, friendly, nice and sometimes sporty.
